If you've made it into "dozens of Priority Pass lounges" with only one wave off, that's an enviable record.
Ive never been rejected from a PP lounge in 3+ years. But my main ones are the Plaza premium lounges in YVR/YYZ, The Club locations domestically, the Air Canada lounge in LaGuardia (when it was PP) and the lounge in Cancun. Probably 30+ times without issue.

Ive never done one in Europe or Asia as my airline status or flight class has covered lounges in those locations.
