I just sat on 1A twice last week (LAX-EWR and EWR-LAX).
Even though Seatguru flags 1A as yellow, I did not find noise from galley or lavs (which are far away) to be even noticeable, although I wear noise cancelling headphones.
I think the footwell is much deeper than other J seats on 787, so that might be a plus for anyone who is over 6 foot tall.
