After a long time of not using BRG with Marriott, I recently used it for some hotels in Taiwan, and truthfully (like my last previous experience about 2 years ago), it is still a big deception policy of the company. Both my claim was rejected because of
- they are unable to find the same benefits, e.g. free breakfast rate, club room rate, etc - to me this is just absurd, if I book a (basic) room on Marriott.com and it is already more expensive, while on the 3rd party site, the same type of room is cheaper and thrown in with additional benefit, the rate is denied. Where is the logic to this?
- the site I was using, did require me to provide credit card information (and it was not pay at hotel option), however the cancellation policy was much more lenient than marriott.com cancellation policy of 14 days out. Yet, due to this, the claim was denied because it was not pay at the hotel rate....again, very illogical.
These BRG policy of Marriott is really a farce and to me a big deception to customers. I will just bring my business to another chain/property in this case.
