Just did two long-haul segments earlier this month. Roundtrip ORD-HKG. These changes didn't really impact my opinion of CX, other than giving them points for trying.

The new mattress? I suppose a nice touch, but I honestly don't think it felt any different and going bareback. :-) The pillow? That was better for the long haul seats. The amenities? I don't care about that. The slippers? They don't even come close to fitting my big feet.

If they want to improve, they need to rethink this unworkable "dine on demand." It's NO DIFFERENT then what they've had in the past. Despite their goal, they still feed everyone at the same time; they NEVER ask "When do you want to eat?" And sadly, we've now lost the ability to SEE the food before choosing (when they had the trolley) and are stuck reading the unappetising descriptions found on the menu and trying to choose from that. They really seem to work hard to make it all sound awful. And it takes longer, as they need to enter all the selection on the ipads after each passenger. All of this, by the way, GREATLY delays the delivery of the first beverages. And the meal service still is SO SLOW. First the "tablecloth". Then wait. Then the "hot towel". Then wait. Then collect the towel. Then wait. Then the appetiser. Then wait. Then clear the appetiser. Then wait. Then the main. Then wait. Then clear the main. Then wait. Then cheese. Then wait. Then ask about desert. Then wait. Then get desert. Then wait. OMG, this drags ON and ON and ON.

I get they are trying, so I'm patient with them during the flight.

But if they really wanted to setup up a level, they'd let you choose things from the IFE screen. Select when you want to eat. Notify them when you are finished with your tray and ready for the next step. Let you choose to bring everything at once instead of STEP by STEP by STEP.
