I completely disagree.
Coming from United, I find Alaska's meals, primarily in First class but to a lesser extent also the Y BOB items, to be a significant step up.
While I'm sure that they are not what they used to be, well... welcome to flying in the domestic United States in 2019. Ain't nothin' what it used to be.
