So short list is... The Met, Guggenheim, Statue of LIberty, 5th Ave Macy's, Broadway Show, Rockettes, Chinatown, Central Park... LOL. Basically just about everything you mentioned plus a couple more. We have 7 full days, but will probably be quite jet lagged from a 15ish hour flight.

Not to be insensitive but, unlike me, my wife did not grow up in the US and is quite sensitive to the homeless situation. I've seen it stress her out when visiting parts of LA or SF in the past and I know it she doesn't feel safe. I'm a West Coast kid originally and frankly not that familiar with the various boroughs in NYC. Since you've clarified that most of the things we want to see are in different parts of the city, I suppose the important elements would come down to:

Transportation
Neighborhood
Food options
