FS Athens: Arrival

After a 30 minutes drive we arrived at the Four Seasons Astir Palace. The hotel is unusual in the FS Portfolio, in the past it were 2 Hotels, a Westin and a Luxury Collection. Now it offers over 300 Rooms whatīs big for a FS.
The location is on a Peninsula near the Astir beach. While the hotel is calles FS Athens itīs not really in the city. Itīs at least a 30 minutes drive, often even longer. So if you wonna do sightseeing you have to think about transportation. There is no shuttle, so itīs down to taxi, car or public transportation. You can also use a Hop-Hon Hop-Off bus but beside a walk from the hotel you have to change lines 2 times. While most people may opt for a taxi I simply drove to the city with my rental car.
We booked a Junior Suite with seaview at the Arion (old Luxury Collection) as we liked the rooms from pictures most and Gallivanterīs called it the high-end option.
At the hotel we first drived through a guarded gate. We were only asked for our Name the first time, later they Always mentioned us directly - good service.
The Arion from the street side:

There is a logo, at night they have a fire in front of the entance.

The lobby has a low ceiling and itīs obvious that it is from the 60s. They updated the marble and had some nice sunflowers, but it was some kind of sterile.

At check-in we were told we would stay in a beautiful One-Bedroom Suite with a stunning view. Naive as I am I thought we got our FSPP upgrade, at the room I had to learn we got the Junior Suite we booked. No luck this year with upgrades at Four Seasons.
The first floor:

On our walk to our room I mentioned some stains on the floor. Something I will come back to later.
