If you’re not going to fly much next year, it’s probably not worth it just for the Diamond medallion. But it will depend on your travel habits. How much would you value the GUCs, keeping in mind you shouldn’t count on them working on exactly the 4 flights you’d want? Do your travel habits put you on hub flights or less busy ones where you’ll actually get domestic upgrades and the higher status will put you far enough up the list? How much would you spend for the D1 to PVG on its own?
