Booked basic room with award points. Received slightly larger King room
How are the rooms?
Nice - I found them large for Amsterdam and bed was comfy - supportive but not too firm. It was nice and clean. The bathroom tiles look really cool in person - be aware shower is prone to flooding if you're not careful where you aim the hand held sprayer.

Did you raid the minibar? If so, what did you take?
Yes - drink at the bar (had to request at check out to have removed from bill though - which required supervisor to help clerk and took a few minutes)
What was good and what was bad?
It is a good location if you want to stay in downtown Amsterdam and walk to a lot of sights. Beds are nice and comfy and was clean with a nice bathroom and maid service did a great job keeping it clean and tidy during our 3 day stay. Front desk staff was young and a bit inexperienced but friendly and helpful. The area outside is a bit gritty, but still felt safe. Hotel is quite and a haven from the street noise. The bar (Lyan) seemed understaffed and was slow, but was good otherwise. The free drink they give you when you check in (this is apart from the raid the bar credit) is a tiny (like a shot glass worth of liquid) of a fruity liquor punch served over ice in a brandy glass - hardly seemed worth the trouble IMHO.

Yes, value was good for the area and the quality of the rooms. I think it was 45,000 points per night.
