There’s plenty of neighborhoods that have nightlife and clubs. Unlike some places like (for instance) Nashville or Memphis, Philly’s are not concentrated in any one specific area. Probably Old City has the highest density of bars, but clubs with dance floors are all over the place...there are many post-industrial buildings in Philadelphia (north of Vine St., east of Broad, in a large area) that lend themselves to this kind of use. Fishtown is the latest happening spot—very hipsterish but there are still plenty of places there where this non-tattooed 52-year-old feels comfortable.
