This is the second time this happens to me. I booked a flight on United.com and cancelled within a few hours (under the 24 hour cancellation period) entitling me to a full refund. Usually when I book on Expedia (or even other airlines directly), the fare shows up as a pending charge for 24 hrs an if it's canceled, the charge is never applied to my cc. However, both times on United, the charge has been applied and has taken almost 2 months to be refunded. The cancellation confirmation email indicated that the refund is processed within 7 days, and when I spoke with a United supervisor about this, she blamed the delay on the credit card company, which is complete BS. I called my cc company and they said they haven't received any refunds. What are the legalities around refunds? I read somewhere that Airlines have to return your money within 7 business days... This is a huge inconvenience since in both cases my fare cost several thousand dollars. Any feedback is appreciated
