A few years ago I was a gold that ended up one night short of achieving platinum for the subsequent year. Marriott kept me at gold. No complimentary night to get to platinum.

If you are already platinum they might keep you there even short three nights. But if you are a lower tier now you might find yourself at gold.

As as others suggested I’d recommend booking three more nights.
