Agree that the Marriott is great, in terms of upgrade, as well as the breakfast buffet. I recently recommended a friend stay there for her long layover, and she had no trouble finding her way into the city.

I have also stayed at the AC Avenida de America (March 2019). While you do not get a free breakfast, you can choose a lower rate for breakfast (IIRC, 9.25 EUR) as one of your elite amenity. I chose this location due to proximity of where I had to go to work. I like that there is a Lidl supermarket on the next block, so it was great for picking up snacks / more water. I used taxis so cannot comment on public transit.
