At Bali DPS airport the domestic terminal is separate so you have to go landside, clearing immigration in Bali. Usually very fast (10 min) but I have heard horror stories of taking 2 hours when many planes arrive simultaneously ... the immigration hall has space for thousands of people to line up, quite a large room, though I personally have never seen those crowds. I dont know about CGK but expect similar.
I've ever had too many issues at Bali, just wasn't sure if they have a domestic - international immigration airside, shame if they don't, works well in BKK.
