There are absolutely NO sidewalks anywhere around the hotel though there are several once you get closer to the Sheraton and a lot of the surrounding area is going to be messy to walk in especially if it has been raining (muddy/sandy/etc). If you are attending a function at the Sheraton, you probably do not want to show up looking like you were just lost in the desert for ten days.

Also as a former Miami resident who had no problem going to some rougher areas for good restaurants, I absolutely would NOT suggest walking around the immediate area of the Embassy Suites.
