Hi all, this is my first post. Only recently discovered this site and I am impressed by the depth of knowledge.

My BF and I are non-scene, not for judgmental reasons, but we fit the suburbs-with-dogs profile.

At the grand old age of 42, I have yet to stay in a gay hotel. I suppose the answer to the question is “depends”, but as we are woefully ignorant, perhaps you well-travelled types could indulge me and answer a broad question:

Are the hotels very cruisy and do you have people knocking on your doors at all hours? Would a dreary (fashion victims ) monogamous couple feel at ease there?

Pardon the generalisations, but I would like to get a feel as we are planning a European trip next year and are considering our accommodation.
