I recently did a cheap CDG-GVA-CDG on Air France to get the XPs. I couldn't stay airside, I had to go throw security. However, security checks were fast enough that when I got back to the gate, they were in the middle of boarding the aircraft I came with. WIth only a hand luggage, I wouldn't worry about a short connection time within the French sector.
