But some other people, like me, applied early because I have zero need for a companion pass (I always fly solo), and if not going for a companion pass, what's the point in waiting? In my case, I'm going for this card simply for the boatload of WN points, and the timing simply had to do with when my signup bonus (SUB) spend was finished on my last card. (I do "slow churning", meaning I only do "organic" spend, and so I don't apply for another card until I'm ending up the SUB spend on the previous card. I'm also trying to stay under 5/24, so always looking for business cards that earn useful stuff, since business cards at most banks don't add to N/24.)

I was talking about people who have already applied, some weeks ago. Based on past years my guess is some mess up and the bonus posts in 2019

I made a quote about the bonus posting in 2020 and also how people mess up and the bonus posts in the wrong ( 2019) year, I guess I figured it was pretty clear I was only speaking of people who care about getting CP for 2020/21.

WN prices ( especially from MSP) have increased a LOT in the past year or so to the point where a lot of the time I could fly AA or DL as a single flyer for less.

I don't want a 6am flight ( which has me getting up at 3am) or a flight that arrives after midnight so my fare comparisons ( in miles of course) are for prime time flights with the least amount of travel l time possible.

We also only do organic spend but can close out a card ~ every 30 days, thus the AA churn has been very good to us.
