I've tried this once before for a TATL and it was like $500 more for a non sale fare class, but YMMV. The rep also didn't really know what to do, so I had to explicitly confirm a non A,Z,W,T fare class.

It's frustrating as I could be nearly the next tier up if 75% of my flights aren't "sales" and here I am hardly qualifying for Silver despite having 5 or 6 TATL flights this year, as well as some european flights
