This really depends on if you are going to NZ or not as a stopover, I've just made the return trip from SYD and with stopover in AKL, I was not able to do OLCI and need to show my NZETA to check-in agent at SYD.
If you're going straight through AKL to Australia then you should be able to OLCI (myself included).
Good point. We were flying ORD-AKL-SYD with only transit at AKL, which may account for our OLCI success.
That said, the NZeTA is required whether you're transiting or entering NZ, so it seems odd that stopping over in NZ
would prevent OLCI while transiting
wouldn't.
