Kimpton Alexis Hotel (Seattle, WA)

Kimpton Alexis Hotel (Seattle, WA)

What is your Rewards Club status? Spire Elite and Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Junior Suite, upgraded to a One Bedroom Suite (City View) in the Arlington Wing

How are the rooms? Our suite was on the fourth floor of the Arlington building (while it is all one large building, there are different elevators between the Alexis and Arlington wings and the floors are not connected. We were on the corner of First Avenue and Spring Street and there was a bit of street noise, but we still slept well. The suite has a huge living area with an L-shaped sofa and chaise lounge and a dining room table, seating six. The bathroom was also spacious, but only had a large walk-in shower and single sink. Rooms were recently refurbished and didn't show any signs of wear.

[if you are Spire]

How was your complimentary welcome amenity?Per their website, the welcome amenity is a $10 bar credit, but we didn't use it. We were also given an Inner Circle-like personal amenity of a bottle of Pellegrino and macaroons and chocolate-covered almonds/espresso beans from the restaurant.

Did you raid the minibar? Theo chocolate peanut butter cups and a Kind Bar. I was mistakenly billed for the items after I checked out; luckily, I checked my credit card transactions right after the stay and caught the error. A quick email back to the property alerting them to the error was all that was needed to fix this.

Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive? N/A

Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value? N/A

What was good and what was bad? Great location; easy walk to Pike Place Market and many great restaurants in the area. Very good elite recognition and friendly staff. Somewhat small fitness center and guests staying in the Arlington Wing must go down the lobby and take the Alexis Wing elevators to access it. Also, one of the two elevators in the Arlington Wing was out of service the entire time of our stay, which led to some long waits. Also annoying is the amenity fee, which has no value to Elite Members and steep valet charge of $50 per night.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? This property runs a little more expensive than the other Kimptons in Seattle, but the location and elite recognition make this an attractive choice. I also found a reasonable pre-paid rate that included parking. I'd certainly stay here again.
