As promised I am back with the meal from my IST-ATL TK 31 J flight. Despite my best efforts to not overeat on vacation I was still quite stuffed during my lounge visit, and I wanted to eat on board, so sadly I didn't make the most of the lounge food. I did eat a fresh Simit though, probably could have had ten if it was the beginning of the trip! Of course I am hungry right now and that sounds quite good. Well anyway on to the flight:

The famous pre-departure drink. I had the orange juice this time and it was fantastic

This evening's menu

Gin and Tonic with nuts (wish they would warm them!)

Canapé trio

Appetizers from trolley. Shrimp was good consistency but not much flavor, like the salad and hummus. Was kind of surprised after getting multiple hits of the bread basket on the short haul flight the night before I was only ever offered one roll.

Salmon main, was a little fishy, was not dry, un-memorable otherwise

Wife's Teriyaki Beef, horribly overcooked and inedible.

Dessert, great pistachio ice cream. Baklava was a little too cold but flavorful.

Tea service.

Pre-landing meal appetizer, I wasn't that interested in it.

Stuffed eggplant, now this was the best thing I had all flight. The rice pudding went down great as well.

Wife's pumpkin pasta

Overall the mains were the big letdown, and I didn't end up having the Manti in the lounge so I definitely wish I had tried it in the air. Was also surprised not to have any walk up snack area or "anytime" food offerings if one wanted a snack. The crew really treated the middle of the flight like a redeye even though it was a 2PM departure-7PM landing. I suppose I could have called if I wanted something, but I was surprised they didn't really come through the cabin or even offer to replace my empty water bottle I left out on the armrest. Other than that the actual service during the main meal was good and the rest of the food I tried was well done.
