I rarely use many of the benefits of the Explorer Card but I'm keeping it for a couple reasons.

First is having more saver awards available for booking tickets with points.

The other is that I earn significantly more points in the shopping portal and the MileagePlus X App with the United Credit Card. 2 points versus 1 point for Marriott stays is huge for me personally and the 25% bonus in the MPX App adds a ton of points for me. I easily make up the annual fee just using the app and portal and book quite a few trips using the added saver awards.

When those benefits dry up I'll certainly cancel the card because I find little use for the other "perks".
