It is 6 a.m. and no rail companies has provided update, yet. I am monitoring Japanese news website which has summaries of cancellation/delay by monitoring each company websites and announcements to press.

JR East said yesterday that they are expecting service cancellation to be till least noon on Sunday. Rail companies are saying the they will slowly resume the service once they have safety inspection cleared.

Airline has not said anything about Monday flights but I suspect there will be some cancellation/delay due to residual aircraft and crew positioning situation, since ANA and JAL both cancelled all operation at NRT on Sunday. However, both ANA and AJL did not cancel their entire operation at HND on Sunday, though.

Last month when I flew out of NRT a day after Typhoon no. 15, there were good number of people in the terminal prepared to spend second night because they could not get rebooking. There had to be additional good number of people at hotels and at their homes spending second night due to rebooking. Saw few people getting at check-in counter telling an agents, "I know other passengers got rebooked on today's flight. I need to get back today and cannot wait till tomorrow!"
