On that news, I've booked a different airline with no surprises for $65 and will eat the $45 Ryanair ticket. I always carry on bags because of the convenience, not the cost. I would have no problem paying for a checked bag instead of an extra carry on/priority boarding if my bag was too big for the cabin. The cabin bag weight issue seems to be a method to trap passengers into paying more. It makes no logical sense if the extra 7kg happens to be in the cabin instead of the hold to charge more, much more in this case.
Despite giving $45 to Ryanair (which I'm sure they will donate to a worthy charitable cause

), I will never know the Ryanair experience.
