Club and The Back on Gatwick fleet is so translucent, that the catering is all that separates it. Gatwick is usually quite good in this domain, but those sad old relics of BMI’s Airbus fleet really are fit for the scrap heap. BA have done nothing to ameliorate the interiors except at leat there Is at least a window at 1F in all of them, I gather.

i do agree about what is serious and what is not. This is more medium then light. I do think that Mr Cruz needs to be aware that Gatwick is there and that running it as a Cinderella Service with all these old hand-me-down aircraft has customer discogniscence problems. What I would do is remove Alex Cruz’s email address from public view. You,I, and lots here know that there are those of our brethren who make a song-and-dance about things that should be dealt with at a far lower level. That would mean that it was changer and that things like this which seem to me to indicate a bit of an Any-Old-Thing will do culture needs to be flagged. Gatwick is a crumby old Terminal with a useless gate system and rubbish aircraft manned by some of the loveliest staff that I’ve met. I have such a soft spot for the place, but short of a demolition squad, a long long overdue second runway and some aircraft that actually hadn’t been exhausted by some defunct Eastern European low cost carrier; I can see no improvement.
I agree completely. The only good thing about LGW for me is I can get on a train at Peterborough with a coffee and a pasty and go all the way to LGW with no change.

When BA bought the Monarch slots I thought they would place a top up order for about 30 A320/1 with another 30 options so they could retire some of the old aircraft. They went with the lease out the slots and muddle through option, which was cheaper. Now some of the Thomas Cook slots have boomeranged back some decisions will need to be made.

WW is being hosted by Airbus shortly to fly on an A350/900, so perhaps some news may come from that.
