Flying Ryanair STN-RIX and paid for the extra cabin-bag/priority boarding. But while my bag is just within the size requirements, I see there’s a total weight limit of 10kg for all carry-ons and they charge £11 per kg over. My bag weighs 2.25 kg alone and as this is a relatively long trip, I will pack the bag densely. My small backpack which will also store my iPad and its bag (easily fits under the seat) will be at least another 3 kgs. While I don’t know what the total weight will be there’s no way in heck will everything be under 10kg. My guesstimate will be about 17 kg. There doesn’t seem to be any “excess weight” purchase option with carry-ons.
Does Ryanair truly weigh carry ons? Is there a real chance I’ll get dinged around £77?
