Interesting rant thread. If the objective is to find out who was responsible: VS Operations probably based on some rationale with a million possible reasons. Maybe you'll find out that a catering truck driver in LHR hit the door of your A330, maybe the pilot made a hard landing, maybe an over eager sales person overbooked the flight and they had to go bigger.
