I’m not shocked the status may not matter for bag purposes (and it is a free ticket after all) ...
But I’m not sure why this sort of “scare” is really applicable. My UA friend even recommended I ask nicely to see if they’d waive the fees. How could asking about it get me bounced or get her in trouble? I’m using the buddy pass within the rules of the program.
