Just curious, but at what point have you technically accepted the change?

DL usually sends me an email saying there was a schedule change and your new flight/time is XXX. Is there a certain amount of time I have to deny the change (or call DL and request something else) before the change is considered accepted, or does acceptance just then happen at check-in if I take no action?
