Probably not what you want to hear but with their room rates the 2k for the arrangements, dinner, photos, etc. is not a big deal to them. I know it's a big deal to you especially for such a special occasion. Did you ask if they could upgrade you based on the special event? In the end, I wouldn't let this spoil the trip for you and just enjoy the trip!
