Last time I travelled with a (male) collegue, he got a 2 (I got a 5) - he is in his early 50s (so different age group to my mid 30s) - it was his first visit, for me it was my second one (got 5 on both cases)
Besides the age, he had a "clean" passport, ie just a few stamps from countries being on good relations with Israel like the US, and no muslim countries stamps.
So, I'd say that first/second/third etc. visit definitely doesn't play that much into the game of what number you get. Age and visited countries - and possibly sex - do count much more.
