Yup, I think that's it. LHR - JFK - DFW - SFO would be one 25k (or VIP systemwide) upgrade. SFO - JFK would require 6 stickers (the 2,586 mile SFO - JFK trip is a little over the 55 mile "buffer" they'd allow for 5 stickers, unfortunately, as I recall from other posts.)

If you were flying LHR - MIA - SFO - JFK, or LGW - DFW - SFO - JFK, they MIGHT have allowed it, though some of the AA/mile gurus here may correct me.

The 3 segment max is the clincher. I can use the 25K u/g for LHR-JFK-DFW-SFO. 777, M80, 763 and then cross my fingers and use stickers on the red-eye return. Thanks for the clarification.
