I had an odd experience redeeming my free night voucher. I called to redeem it, gave the phone agent the voucher number from my email, she made the booking with no problem.

When I arrived at the property in Sedona, the front desk lady asked me for a copy of the voucher, which I showed her on the phone. Then she kept asking to see my phone, to copy down the voucher, which I assumed the hotel would have in the booking. I think the computer kicked the reservation back to her as invalid at first, she started reading me rules that the guest should be charged cash if the voucher is invalid or if the guests lacks sufficient points. Why would BW book points reservations if the voucher number is invalid and without locking up the points.

She asked me when the voucher was issued. She read something on her screen about it being an Australian promotion for Australian hotels only. More looking at my phone to get the 4 digit security code that goes with the voucher number. She had discussions with her co-worker about how the computer wouldn't accept the voucher, followed by her telling me "OK, I'll check you in and we'll let you know if there's a problem with it."

Anyway, I recommend bringing a printout of the voucher email without you when you check in.
