It's a while since I travelled in the CW dormitory and can't say I'm really looking forward to it. I've read/skimmed through this thread but can't find any specific reference to the 56J variant.

At the moment the entire cabin is wide open in each direction, with only the bassinet seats blocked. I've selected 10A and 10B, on the grounds that there'll be no-one climbing over us to get into and out of their seat, but am aware that they're close to the galley.

Does anyone have any recent experience of these seats? Are there any drawbacks that makes them a poor choice?
Depends on your preference. For us travelling as a couple, we usually choose the front row, in this case 10 A/B or J/K. No one will climb over 10B but 10A will have to climb over someone to get out.
The other choice is last row, in this case 16 A/B or J/K which will have the window person not having to climb over anyone but the aisle seat person will have someone climbing over them.
Galley noise has never been an issue from row 10. There are toilets just behind row 16.
So pick your poison.
