Are there any Transatlantic Biz Class Award sweet spots somewhere along on this route?
I also have CC miles that can be transferred to almost any mileage program. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
The "sweet spot" for business awards on AA metal to Europe is being able to travel in the shoulder seasons (Sep-Nov and Mar-Apr to some extent) and having the flexibility to be able to book only 1-2 months in advance if not even closer in.
If you're trying to find 2 business sAAver seats on AA metal to Italy looking 8 months out for Saturdays in June, you're not likely to find anything, for example.
Also, you are severely handcuffing yourself by limiting options to only one connection. This is not a realistic strategy with AAdvantage sAAver awards in business to Europe in most cases.
