I'm curious -- if i have somehting in my bag -- let's say a laptop computer power adapter and other wires that a screener honestly mistakes for a B*** (can I say Bomb o nlfyertalk

) and calls over the cop, who determines that it is indeed a power adapter, must I give them my name for their reports??
I'll answer a legitimate question. When an image is on the monitor which resembles a threat then the bag is stopped in the X-Ray or just outside in the cage. A LEO is called in to remove the bag and search it for the suspected item. I deal with the X-Ray systems and the testing software a lot and have seen object that are harmless look totally different when sent through the machine. Remember the image is two dimensional and the shot is taken on an angle. If the item or items are sitting in a bag at a weird angle it can appear to be something else.
For incidents such as this where a LEO is called an incident report is completed (whether found to be real or not). The incident report will make it's way to the AFSD, FSD and to HQ through a computer system. If there is some reason to refer to the incident (a complaint), then the persons who need the information can get access to it easier. It also tracks incidents like the one stated above and could lead to a change in procedure.
