Is there a reason why the flight deck never use words like please or thank you?
Cabin crew might comment but, to my ears, this is not a request from the cockpit but rather a signal of where we are in the phase of flight. It is a bit like kitchen staff saying "service" to front of house staff in a restaurant. "please" is not really needed here as you are not asking them something you are just letting them know that we are at the point when things are ready for them to do 'their thing', so to speak.
