Which of these hotels have reasonably priced, local style eating places within easy walking distance? Which of them are easiest to reach by public transport (bus or MTR)? Are any of these at great risk of being affected by the current protests?
With all things considered, CY ST will be the best choice among all.
Ocean Park, Cyberport, and Sky City share the same characteristic - they are considerably located in the middle of nowhere. With the 2 remaining CYs, CY HK is worse because CY HK is a protest hot spot by itself (it is 1 block away from the Hong Kong Liaison Office).
CY ST fits you the most based on your criteria because:
1. It is perceived as one of the lowest priced Marriott in Hong Kong.
2. The nearest mall is about 10-15 minutes walking distance away from CY ST (City One). Sha Tin Town Centre, a major mall complex in the District, is located 10-15 minutes bus distance from the hotel. A hotel shuttle is also available, depending on time.
3. The nearest MTR station is 5 minutes walking distance away. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel.
4. Although Sha Tin Town Centre is a protest hot spot, you can practically skip it if planned carefully.
