You can talk to Newark Penn Station mostly covered, there is an entrance on Mulberry Street that takes you to the station, up the escalator, down the hall, NJ Public TV is on your left, down the stairs, left at the little Dunkin Donuts right through another door and there you are. They have armed security in this area as well as downtown, so while the city is sort of a dump (though it weirdly has a Whole Foods) it seems to be getting better. It has a certain charm, you kind of want to see it succeed.
Regarding the PATH train, it doesn’t run into WTC most weekends, it stops at Exchange Place and you have to transfer to a ferry. Just in case you’re here on a weekend.
Thanks - it this via the covered walkway which also passes the Hilton / Doubletree? And I am there on a monday, so the closure from Exchange Place to WTC does not affect me.
