It's not ostensibly a Medan flight, it normally goes on to Bali as a final destination. Unfortunately Garuda doesn't have flight equipment to secure London LHR to Bali DPS non-stop, so an intermediate stop was built into the route. Medan is the capital of north Sumatra, a province with a population of getting on for 20 million and a lovely, spanking new airport with very few international routes.
Medan's a bit of a dump. I have nothing good to say about the food, but volcano trips and Lake Toba make up for all that.
LHR DPS is (usually) the same fare. And that might be more attractive to your audience. A quirk of interest to mileage collectors: it allows a stop in Medan and onward routing to Bali through Java in Garuda business-class.
The problem is Garuda's flakey history operating out of London
