So in this new system, they seem to have anticipated a lot of waitlisting not clearing and a lot of flak for it. At least that is my take, after being sent repeated "Your upgrade is still waitlisted"
At T-21:
Your request for a Business Class upgrade is still waitlisted. Your waitlist status will be checked again ten days prior to your flight’s departure, and you will receive an email notification automatically. If your upgrade is confirmed, you will also receive an updated e-ticket by email.
They really want to rub our noses in this mess.
