No real reason for row 47 other than sentimental nostalgic memories of previous travels
In row 47 you would need to twist your neck back uncomfortably in order to see both engines... certainly doable but I wouldn't want to be sitting like that for a long time

Your word of caution about neck twisting, paired with certain clips on "QF32" on Amazon Prime made me realize that the sweet spot is likely row 49, so that's what I'll do: 49ABC-D IAH-DXB (to minimize sun exposure, because the sun will shine on the starboard part of the aircraft more than the port side, assuming an on-schedule flight), and then row 49G-HJK on the way back.
