I didn't find the proximity to the lav to be particularly annoying.There's a pretty thick wall behind you.

Not sure re: POUG - I purchased my ticket through AA so I didn't get any. I asked at the airport if I could pay for an upgrade to CW, but they didn't have any open seats (the cost was $599 I believe).
