i am a marriott plat.

stayed here 2 nights on an award booking and for tourism purposes. as a cat 1 this cost me 7,500 a night. retails for 80-180euro a night so this is a bargain in my view.

room no upgrade but we got a room on the 3rd floor 50 ft from the fitness center and pool. fitness center lacked free weights but you can def get a good workout on. it's small and i think you'd have more space in your room for yoga or stretches than the fitness place. but it was fine. reports previously talked about really worn out and decrepit rooms but we didn't see it. our room was spartan (ac style i guess) but quite spacious by eu standards. i think this place has been recently renovated. our queen room had nice spacious seating for two to work and eat, a giant tv but no english channels except cnbc business and the russian propaganda news channel. the netflix feature was inoperative probably because they didn't connect the smart tv to the network. our room had two large window doors that wide-opened up for air which was nice. the conditioned air was fine. our room also had a bath tub with jets which was nice. the room was 100. zero complaints.

the pool and pool area were nice. nice beds, chairs, not much shade but you can find spots to get that. the pool is very cold so that was kinda nice during the hot autumn pm.

this place is located in a residential and business location, but if you do not mind walking 20 min to the touristy stuff (half the walk on a boulevard, the other thru a really nice peaceful park with some neat monuments and buildings) or taking 6 euro taxi/uber one way it's fine. restaurants around here are fine but if you lack espanol you gotta be brave and try to get thru it. we are african and carribean and we were not big fans of spanish food as a whole, but the places around here were above average of what we had during our trip. this hotel is outside the bird scooter catchment area (ie you cannot take a scooter here without penalty) but it is within the lime catchment, but i would say bird outnumbers lime 30:1. we did not see those jcdecaux bike share stations anywhere near us either.

plat amenity and food: we were offered the 500 points or 10usd/guest/night credit which worked out to 7.80eur a night. it was valid for anything f+b. breakfast was 17eur+tax, so roughly 18.10eur each. we never had it as we just went out and got our own damn coffee+sammich breakfast at one of those tavernas for 4eur each. we instead used our credit for room service. i'll upload a picture of the menu if any of yall care. first we used the credit for a pizza (12eur) which was good enough (free), and a cured ham plate (20eur) which was good enough (free), and a mediocre (free) lemon meringue pie slice (7eur). i'm a late night sorta guy so i sorta appreciate receiving the credit to use how i want instead of being forced into a breakfast, especially if i have to pay partial cash for a buffet i don't really want in the first place.

this place is terrific, staff are terrific, internet worked terrific, facilities and everything are terrific, only thing i'd suggest is at least one english movie channel and maybe some hooks in the bathroom for our robes. oh, and get netflix online for the tv. this is an awesome 1 and worth the schlep into the sights.
