For the metro system though, you can literally just look at the map when you get into the station. It's not hard to plan your own route from that map alone. For buses, I wouldn't trust Apple or Google for that anyway, so...
Which service does the Chinese use for transit directions? For obvious places like the Bund, I don’t need to use any app. I know how to get there. It’s for the less obvious places that I’ll want to use an app.
I know I’m going off-topic, but for longer trips, I may consider getting a Chinese simcard. What’s a good option and at what price?
