I think you guys are referring to "Document Checks." When I use a mobile boarding pass, which is most of the time, I'll stop by the lounge and ask if they require a "document check," which invariably they do. This should resolve your red beeps.
It’s nice to know the name of it, but what would be nicer would be knowing why most other pax don’t need it and I do. Is HBO just that rare and all the other pax have had their doc checked at the check-in counters?
