If you haven't been to Kyushu, that's a great destination: Fukuoka, Dazaifu, Nagasaki, Kumamoto (with side trip to Mt. Aso if conditions are safe), even so-cheesy-that-it's-kind-of-fun Beppu are worth seeing.
