If you arrive before the system is reset, you shouldn't have to do anything to get your points and stay credit.

If you arrive during or after the system reset, you may need to ask the hotel to intervene. You'll still get what you're entitled, however. The easiest way to handle this is to ask at the hotel before you leave. If you don't, you'll need to call/email/contact Hilton and ask. That's a longer process, but you still should get the points and stay credit.
