It's possible. When AC put out their fleet plan at Q1 results (early May), they were planning to retire all of the mainline 763s this year. As of their Q2 results (end of July), they had one leaving the fleet this year, and the other five in 2020. So yes, it's possible we could see a 763 operating YYC-NRT in the summer.
It's also likely that the MAX fiasco contributed to the change in timing, and that if the MAXes come back sooner, the 763s might disappear earlier.
When they announced the original plan of them being out of the fleet this year, I always figured the last 763 would be AC889 and then whatever it continues on to Toronto as. But now with AC838/839 gone and AC888/889 going to a 788 in the spring it looks like other people than us YOW-ites will get the last of the 763s.
The XMed economy cabin on those planes has seen me through a lot of flights, and these planes are still pretty nice to fly in both J and Y. Besides the wear and tear I guess. And the seat back screens. And the overhead bins. But still, I'll kind of miss them
